Health Care Insurance

Health Care Insurance is getting a lot of coverage today. A majority of people have health care coverage through their work. Some companies pay all of the insurance premiums for the individual coverage but most people pay some part of the premium. The part that a person pays is deducted from their pay check. If the company pays the premium, there is no tax on that benefit. There is also family coverage which needs to be addressed.

If you have no health coverage through your work, you need to purchase Health Insurance.

Some tips:

  • Research a number of companies for price and benefits, and then compare the policies.
  • Check the deductible. The higher the deductible the less the premium.
  • Check any co-pay
  • Check what is not covered
  • Most important, is to check the total amount that would be covered. Some policies have $1M limit and some are unlimited. (You want unlimited)
  • The healthier you are the less your premiums.

Regardless of your situation, you and your family need health care coverage. And, you need to have some savings in the bank to supplement any health care need that is not covered under you policy.
